The price of Dreaming

Montana spray paint- and marker on wood · 78 × 118 cm

The Price of Dreaming explores the tension between aspiration and sacrifice. A fragmented face emerges through layers of leaves, shadows, and overlapping forms—caught somewhere between growth and dissolution.

The work reflects on what we give up in pursuit of the things we imagine for ourselves: time, certainty, comfort, and sometimes pieces of who we are. Yet the dream remains alive, growing through the fractures.

The piece is about the quiet cost of becoming.

Dreams grow, but they ask something of us in return. Time, comfort, certainty, pieces of ourselves. The face appears fragmented yet alive, intertwined with forms that can be read as growth, concealment, or transformation.

Some dreams change us long before we ever reach them.
